ASTRONOMY CLUBS IN SCHOOLS
ASTRO forms Astronomy Clubs in schools across the country. With the execution of Astronomy Club in the school, there starts a expedition to ”Explore The Universe”.

CLUB'S AIM
To inculcate scientific temperament among the students through a process of experiments, analyses, activities and night observations.

CURRICULUM
The Astronomy Club Program has been designed in the form of SEMESTERS(programs) 01,02,03 after in depth and extensive Research and Development by our faculty. These modules are to be run one by one in the Astronomy Club. To begin with the Club, SEMESTER 1- ‘‘INTRODUCTION TO ASTRONOMY” is chosen. It consists of various sessions, which are conducted within as well as outside the School. The Semester 01 will be covered in a span of 12 days within a period of about eight months. The students will learn how to identify celestial objects in real sky and real time and also learn to focus telescope on these celestial objects. Separate details will be provided for the curriculum after the execution of Astronomy Club.

FACULTY
Our faculty consists of Astronomers and Astrophysics experts. A faculty member and an assistant along with the school co-coordinator teacher (preferably a geography or science teacher) will conduct the sessions.


CLUB ACTIVITIES
Visit to Planetarium/ Observatories.
Career counseling on Astronomy and Space Science.
Sky observations.
Astrophotography and Asteroid hunting.
Telescope making work shop.
Computer Astronomy.
Interactive multimedia sessions.
Participation in various national and international competitions.
Interaction with national/international level Astronomers and Scientist.
Designing/making of various Astronomical Models.
Developing Astronomy laboratories/observatories in schools.

HOBBY CERTIFICATION
The school and school co-coordinator will be awarded Hobby Certificates of participation and appreciation for promotion of Astronomy in the education system for particular and society at large.
On successful completion of program, each student member will be awarded a certificate for Amateur Astronomer.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION
The school club can choose any of the two mediums either Hindi or English.

ELIGIBILITY
The students from 5th to 12th Std can chose to be the member of Astronomy Club.

CLUB STRENGTH
For execution of Astronomy Club minimum number of students should be 50.

SCHOOL REGISTRATION
In order to start Astronomy Club the school has to get registered with A.S.T.R.O. The school registration fee to be paid is Rs 500/.

INTERFACE WITH OTHER SCHOOLS
The students from nearby schools can also be invited for taking part in the evening observation to be conducted from the school itself.

PARENT'S PARTICIPATION
The parent's can also enjoy and learn by actively participating in the evening sky observation\camp to be conducted from the school premises.

School will be provided with Solar System Model, framed Sky Map, Astronomy Club Head Badge, one set of Astro kit.

FEE
Fee per member student for a Club is Rs 2,500.

PAYMENT SCHEDULE
Each student membership fee can be paid in lump sum or in two equal instalments. The fee is to be paid latest by 1st day of the program and in case of instalments, the second installment is to be paid latest by 4th day of the program.

MODE OF PAYMENT
Payment can be made through cash, cheque and D.D. by the school or directly by the students. In case of Cheque/D.D., the payment is to be made in favor of ‘‘Astro Education Services.” Further in case of a cheque bounce, the fine imposed by the bank is to be borne by the member student.
